CHEYENNE S.-HAIR CRISIS ADVERTED

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

Cheyenne came in with a severe case of “dip dye” vs. ombre, a prime example of a job gone wrong, unfortunately.  Gratefully, however, not something that can’t be adverted.

After the hair trauma to Cheyenne’s mids and ends, her mother’s only request was no matter what you need to do, please don’t touch her dark natural color, her hair has been through enough!  So, a heavy round of lowlights and an all over gloss transformed Cheyenne’s overly processed dry orange ends into a more natural looking sunkissed brunette with just a hint of the ombre effect.  A much better look for such a long deservingly beautiful head of hair.

HOT AND SEXY

Something about the extreme side part and the forced blonde of this look that shouts, “hey, check me out.  I’m hot and sexy!”  and that’s totally ok!

STACY H.-BALAYAGED BRUNETTE

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

Stacy is pictured above mid-process of a full head of balayaged highlights to soften her dark brown hair color.  Wanting to not look too ombre, I hand painted her highlights from roots to ends and then toned down her root to “erase” the start of the highlights,  The final step was a quick all over gloss to seal her color all together and enhance the tone of the lighter brown.

AZADEH S.- TWO TRIPS TO BLONDE

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

Azadeh had never colored her naturally black hair before so when she finally decided to take the plunge, it was go big or go home.  To maintain the health of her hair we spaced out two visits of full highlights and tip outs about six weeks apart to achieve her goal of being a blonde.  From here it will be continued maintenance of retouching her root grow-out and baby trims to keep her blonde looking fresh and healthy.

BRUNETTE BOMB

…as in bombshell.  Yes, brunettes are just as babe-aliscious as sexy blondes, this is true!

SKIPPING SPRING

If you’re in the LA area then you know we really only have two seasons-fall and summer, both of which we seem to flip flop between on a tri-daily basis.  Though it is April, and spring should be upon us, these past three days have been nothing short of flippen’ hot! I pray it is fall for you weekend one and two Caochella warriors because in that desert heat compiled with any other extra curricular activities you wish to engage in to enhance your festival experience, I assure you- you will be closer to getting heat stroke than you will be to getting anywhere near front and center of the main stage.  That is unless you have camel-esque qualities about your back.  End heat rant.  Begin summer hair/summer body/summer wardrobe inspiration.  See above for your future.

GANGSTELLA

You could also forget to wear either your pants or your shirt, throw on a bandanna instead, and call yourself a super fly gangsta at Coachella this year.  Just an another idea, feel free to steal.

MELINDA T.-SOFTER SIDE OF NATURAL

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

HAIRCUT/STYLE by ALISSA SMITH

Melinda’s new chop longed for some simple subtle balayaged highlights to accentuate the texture Alissa had scooped throughout her cut.  To do so, I hand panted baby fine ribbons from her mids to her ends making her faux hair color look just as natural as the virginal head she walked in with.  What a cutie!

LINDSAY N.-ADDED INTEREST

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

HAIRCUT/STYLE by ALESSANDRA SAMAN

Claudia, a virgin to hair color wanted to add some interest to her au’ natural locks.  So I busted out the balayage wand to give her subtle sun kisses accentuated by the movement created from Alessandra’s haircut.  So pretty!

HALLUCINATING MAUVE

With the right lighting and/or the right toner, dark blondes/light brunettes can take on a metallic mauve hue and I like it.  Do you see it above?

JESSIE C.-PEACHES AND PINK

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

HAIRCUT by ALESSANDRA SAMAN

Jessie, who I’ve been blonding for quite some time now, came in wanting something fun and new.   Inspired by Sienna Miller’s recent hints of peachy rosegold hair color, we decided to baby step Jessie’s transformation as she wasn’t quite sure she was ready to fully go for it.

Visit One: Subtlety was key-barely there hues of rosegold casted upon her mids and ends.

Visit Two:  Feeling braver-stronger hues of peach throughout.

Viist Three: Fully confident and ready to be bold-swirls of peaches and pink give her the look of rosegold.

TRIBECHELLA

Perhaps this year for Coachella, festival goers should go more tribal and less hippy?  Just an idea…cuz you know you already be planning your weekend’s wardrobe, hairdo’s, and parties to attend.
