HAT HAIR

Tis the season to protect your hair color from the sun when the harsh elements of summer can do a number on your hair.  Prolonged exposure to the rays can cause your hair to be dry and brittle.  It can also cause your color to fade.  Take precaution and protect your strands by one of the most simple methods- toss on a cute hat, kill two birds with one stone, and call it style!

KIM C.- GOING TO THE CHAPEL

HAIR COLOR by SARAH  CONNER

CUT/STYLE by FRANKIE HERNANDEZ

Kim’s big day was rapidly approaching post her hair color appointment.  Needless to say that leaves no room for error or dislike…no problem.  After all, working under pressure is my forte`.  To make her bridal picture ready I brightened up her blonde accentuating her locks with ribbony highlights so her color would really “pop” in photos.  Kim’s refreshed highlights coupled with Frankie’s polished cut was just what she needed to transform her into the glowing bride she deserves to be!

ORIBE ROYL BLOWOUT

New favorite obsession- Royal Blowout from Oribe.  Helps tame and control even the most unruly hair into a smooth long lasting blowout while protecting and enriching the hair.  One stop product- it’s all you need!

HAIR FOR DAYS

Precisely how I’m digging brunettes these days— hair for days with little to no highlights.  Legs for days are a bonus.

JULIE A.- JUST IN TIME

HAIR COLOR CORRECTION by SARAH CONNER

Ahhh Julie was in the midst of a hair color crisis just before her bridesmaid calling and it was one of those corrections that almost had me stumped for a minute.  Usually I can imagine what another colorists intentions were in his or her process which is helpful in determining the method of correction.  This time I didn’t have rhyme or reason as to her result of redhead roots and contrasting ashy blonde mids and ends with dark thick lowlights interspersed in her locks.  At this point, how she got there was irrelevant, what mattered was how I was going to fix it!  My goal was to transform her into a more neutral blonde and make her feel comfortable as she supports the bride down the aisle.  Correction accomplished and as with most, it will continue to get better and better with each visit.

P.S. Much thanks to Annie for referring Julie!

LET IT GO

Sometimes skipping a few appointments is a blessing in disguise.

Shh… did I just type that out loud?  Job killer.

MONICA R.-DARKER FOR HEALTH

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

Monica discovered my work on Pinterest of all places.  (Who knew?  …and Yaaay! That’s awesome.)  She was ready to go a few shades darker, knowing that it would bring some shine and a look of health to her fragile over processed ends. Keeping that in mind, I avoided giving her more highlights and did my best to work with any lightness she already had to accentuate her transformed darker hue.

When your ends are looking tired and frayed and a cut just isn’t in your heart, going darker as Monica did, really can be the best alternative in faking shiny, rich, thick, healthy hair.

JULIE F.-ARTIFICIALLY NATURAL

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

HAIR CUT/STYLE by ALESSANDRA SAMAN

Julie was in town on break from school and had a head of all natural beautiful hair.  We wanted to simply enhance her natural highlights with a few more to give her a hint of flare and keep her looking au nat-ural.  This way she is maintenance free until her next school break.

I’ll see you again soon, Julie!

AVON D,-REFRESHED BRUNETTE

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

HAIR CUT/STYLE by ALESSANDRA SAMAN

It’d been a while since we had refreshed Avon’s hair color so she was definitely due.  However, she’s a busy mom so I wanted to keep her on the low maintenance path.  To do so, it was important to keep her relatively close to her natural color while still giving her a feeling of being overall lighter.  Very subtle highlights are key here.  Avon can now go months again before needing touch-up appointment.  Perfect!

LAUREN G.-BLEND AND TONE

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

Lauren was referred to me by a friend of hers who had started seeing me about six months ago.  (Best way to find a colorist— let your friend test it out first.  If your friend gets great results consistently, chances you will too!)  Her request, to tone down the red hues she felt her highlights were casting and add more highlights to bring out more of a connection to her lighter ends.  …and so that I did.

Beautiful head of hair!
