Holy moly, Jill pretty much has the best head of hair on the planet! And now that that’s out of the way, can we just take a moment to… ok, look at it one more time. Yes, the best head of hair on the planet!
…And to top that off, I’m so happy she discovered me from the blog and even more grateful that she chose me to be the one to get to highlight it. I first neutralized some of the redness she felt was coming through in her previous base color and then followed up with a round of highlights and scattered sun-kissed tips to keep her overall color looking natural and the dimension looking subtle. Perfect for Jill, who’s about to be a busy new mom with little time for intense upkeep.
So nice to meet you Jill and looking forward to seeing you again as a mommy!

Terri was mostly her natural color with a few inches of lightened ends when she made her way to my chair, reading pretty dark overall in her hair color. Bringing the brightness of highlights up and throughout her locks instead, along with the shape of her cut, softened not only her over all hair color, but also her skin tone. Terri’s new look gives her a fresh happy glow. Love to see a smile like that!
SUBDUED SUMMER THOUGHTS
The days of spring are numbered (Sweet jesus, can you believe it?) and the heated days of summer are approaching. Translation: Time to think about summer looks for hair color.
With the never ending ombre trend finally on its last little bleached out tip (hooray) I feel our eyes being drawn to the more subdued. Less contrast, less dimension, less two-toned-less is more, no really, less IS more this summer. Try it!
ROOTS HAVE MORE FUN
We all know bleach bases are a pain in the ass. Good for you who are willing to endure, roots are in and half the fun!
STACEY A- A BRASS CORRECTION

Stacey tracked me down on a trip to NYC to fix the pallet of brassy blonde she’d recently been given, and I’m so happy that she did. You can see in her “before’s,” depending on the lighting, that her base read from warm to warmer and was in need of toning down in comparison to her cool beige highlights she’d also been given. Contrasting tones such as these never work. Multiple processes and patience on Stacey’s end, allowed me to correct her base and give her a much needed “root” to transform her color from solid brass blonde to a more natural looking dimensional beige blonde. As is true with any proper color correction, things will only continue to get better in time, but I am happy to see Stacey’s color on the right track!

Alicia is definitely no stranger to ON COLOUR GROUND- scroll away and you will find her in a variety of lengths, styles, and colors. (Which I love btw…nothing like a girl who’s open to new looks!) Anywho- here she is in her latest rendition of adorable- tousled textured bob that once upon a time faded to a fuscia-y pink (see remnants of the tone in her “before’s”) and now fades to subtle tones of pewter, a.k.a. not quite grey/not quite purple/not quite pink, in her “after’s.” Love it!

Kerry’s got one lovely lion’s mane head of hair on her that was swallowing her up. Frankie’s cut came to the rescue to open up her face features and let those natural curls of hers be free. I gave her a round of highlights to freshen up her roots and a few sporadic brighter tips to make those curls have a sparkle within each twist and turn of them. So cute!
