JULIE F.-ARTIFICIALLY NATURAL

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

HAIR CUT/STYLE by ALESSANDRA SAMAN

Julie was in town on break from school and had a head of all natural beautiful hair.  We wanted to simply enhance her natural highlights with a few more to give her a hint of flare and keep her looking au nat-ural.  This way she is maintenance free until her next school break.

I’ll see you again soon, Julie!

LINDA C.-CONNECT THE TWO-TONE

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

The days of extreme ombre- heavily contrasting roots and ends, are pretty much days of the past and so Linda came to me in need of a connection.  A round of highlights, a bump of her base, and a gloss to neutralize the warmth in her previous ends was just what she needed to give her color a blended appeal versus looking two-toned.  Linda is fresh and modern again!

MAYA-RAISE YOUR HAND

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

Raise your hand if you’re like Maya and tired of your ombre!  The trend has definitely started to wear out it’s welcome, but that doesn’t mean you have to have an extreme change.  Use those already bright ends to your advantage (so that there’s no need to over-process your hair) by connecting those blonde tips to your deeper roots.

-and-

Viola,’ just like that you’re back on point to having beautiful natural looking hair color well beyond yesterday’s trend.

DEEP BRONDE OR BUST

Here it is again… the not quite dark blonde blonde+ not quite rich brunette=bronde.

Could this be the new ombre?

SHELBY CANCINO-BRUNETTE TO BLONDE IN A DAY

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

CUT/STYLE by ALESSANDRA SAMAN

Rome wasn’t built in a day, but taking Shelby from dark brunette to blonde was!  That’s not to say it was a quick transition though.  A job such as this and to be done with keeping the integrity of the hair in mind takes several rounds of highlights and many, many hours.  We’re talking like nine hours to be exact.  Well worth the wait when the transformation looks this good on her.  I’m loving beautiful Shelby as a dark golden blonde!

ICED-T

I’m kind of obsessed with this deep iced-tea hair color.  I imagine when the sun hits it you see all the reflects of honey, gold, and amber.  It makes me thirsty just looking at it!

DRAB FAB

My initial instinct is to want to highlight this hair just a touch to take away the drab and add a little sun kiss.  But on second thought, NO, THIS DRAB IS FAB!  Her color is beautiful-perfectly bronzed in a amber honey sort of way.  Love it!

SHE’S GOT DEBBIE HARRY EYES

Obsessed with this length.

Loving the fluff and the fullness of the base of the cut.

Drooling over the honey golden perfection of her color.

…and if I close my eyes real tight, open, and look at the photos, I’m convinced it’s Debbie Harry trapped in a model’s body.

STEPHANIE HOLMES-PRETTY GIRL TO BEAUTIFUL WOMAN

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

HAIRCUT/ STYLE by GARETH BROMMEL

A handful of inches off and a deeper warm golden blonde transforms Stephanie from pretty young girl into sophisticated beautiful young woman.  Wowzer, I love it when a color change creates a new makeover!

BRONZED BRUNETTE

What I like about this color are the bronzed golden tones that reflect in the midst of her brunette-ness.  It’s solid yet still gives off light reflect and depending on the lighting, the tonal value is completely be changed.  My eye is totally drawn to it!

JAELYNN VIK-CHANGE IT UP

HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER

Jaelynn, my family from another mother, is one who’s not afraid to switch up her hair color and while she spends most of her days as a blonde, she was ready for a change. Great, don’t mind if I do!

Since Jaelynn is a switcher-upper, I chose to go the semi-permanent route because lord knows next time I see this girl she’ll have a new vision.  (Keeps me on my toes… it’s a good thing!)  Using semi-permanent color will make the next transition much easier on her hair than using permanent.  It’s less wear and tear.  Something to keep in mind if you’re one who likes to bounce back and forth between light and dark frequently.

Personally, this may be my favorite hair color on her.  It actually makes those baby blues of her pop even more than blonde and gives her skin tone a natural glow.  I just may have to convince her to keep it!

DYNASTY RICH

Uh, I love this spread.  Reminds of being a child in 1983 fascinated by the colors, the clothes, the makeup, and the hair of the epic t.v. series Dynasty.  Pure gluttonous gaudy joy.  So much more expressive and fabulous than today’s subdued looks.

Her deep, deep dark honey gold color is given just a slight hint of reverse ombre-accentuated by the lighting and the style of curls is perfect in setting the tone (no pun intended) of this shoot.  Another example of color providing a mood.  Clearly, I dig it!

MOOD SWINGS

Makeup and hair go hand in hand… while the hair can be simple the makeup can evoke a mood change and vice versa.  This spread exemplifies that.  What mood does each photo evoke out of you?  Are you feelin’ it?

GLAMOUR REFLECTS

Beautiful showcasing of how subtle highlights can give off intense light reflects.

Obsessed with the styling!
